Holiday house hire information
MOA holiday houses are provided for the enjoyment of all members, we have a few simple conditions for their use to ensure fairness to all who use these facilities and those that follow them.
Your Committee are volunteers and appreciate your support to make the Hire of our Holiday Houses easy and enjoyable for all members.
About hiring the houses
Any current MOA member can hire any MOA house if it has not already been booked. The hire period is from 3pm on the day of arrival until 2pm on the day of departure.
To be fair to all members, nobody is allowed to hire a house for more than one week during the school holidays.
The current tariff is:
Rental rates for a weekend at Tikao Bay are $120 for both Friday and Saturday nights (ie 2 nights=$120). Additional weekday nights are $40 per night Sunday to Thursday
Rental rates for a weekend at Hanmer are $150 for both Friday and Saturday nights (ie 2 nights=$150). Additional weekday nights are $50 per night Sunday to Thursday
Each house can sleep at least six people. Check the details for the specific house you are booking to find out how many double, single, or sofa beds there are, as each house is different.
Houses are maintained by its members by an annual cleaning weekend at each house. If you would like to help with a working bee then please contact us.
Please leave the house tidy on your departure.
House furniture
All houses have the following furniture:
sleeping facilities for at least six people
full cooking facilities, including an oven, microwave, fridge freezer, and cooking utensils
basic cleaning tools and products (including tea towels)
a gas BBQ and picnic table
cutlery and crockery for at least eight people
a shower and bathroom
a television with FreeView, a DVD player and stereo, and a games cupboard
a washing machine. Tikao and Cheviot have a clothes dryer (Hanmer does not).
mattress protector, pillow, duvet and spare blankets for each bed
a high chair and cot
Houses do not have any food (including pantry items like sugar or salt), personal toiletries, towels, or toilet paper.
Conditions of hire
To hire the house you must be a Financial MOA member (both when you book the house and when you stay in it) and you must be using it yourself.
You must pay the hiring fee at least 10 days before your arrival date.
Dogs are allowed on the property but not inside the house. Check the rules for the specific house you are booking to find out about leash laws, as some locations do not allow dogs to run off the leash outside.
You are responsible for any willful damage you or your guests cause to the house or grounds.
A Cancellation fee of $50 applies to any booking cancelled, if we do not receive more than 3 week notices of the cancellation and we are not able to find another member to make use of the time slot cancelled. We will always try our best to find another member to make use of the availability.
