The Bar
MOA has been running a bar in some shape or form for over 30 years.
Staff started the first bar in old stables behind the Civic Offices (then located in Manchester Street) as an answer to their local pub having no beer and since then there has been no looking back.
MOA members get a special rate on all bar beverages if you show your MOA card when served.
There is a large selection of chilled bottled beers, wines, ciders, bubbles, RTDs, spirits, liquers, juices and soft drinks available.
We also have a selection of tap beers including local craft beers that frequently change.
We regularly have bar specials and theme nights for a bit of extra fun.
The MOA bar is located in the function room on the 1st floor of Civic Offices on Hereford Street.

The MOA bar in action
We need volunteers to help run the bar on our regular Friday nights. Please contact the Bar Manager at bar@chchmoa.org.nz if you're interested in joining the crew and having a bit of fun on the business side of a bar.
Hiring the MOA Bar
The bar is is available for staff functions such as retirements/leaving functions or even seminars. The room comes equipped with a laptop connected to a projector with retractable screen and a large screen TV.
There is also pool table and a fully licenced bar. There is seating for up to 200 in either theatre style or at tables.
The room can be used with or without the bar operating and there is no charge for the use of the rooms for council units or teams.

To keep costs down we run a roster of volunteer managers and staff who work behind the bar, this helps to keep our prices low and provides a great way for members to help the club. You can view the bar roster here.
